Mayfield Motors Limited was established in 1965 by Lawrance and Pam Saunders who developed a successful business based on honesty and quality service. Nissan and Peugeot franchises added a sales operation to the already busy workshop. In the mid 1980’s the opportunity came up to acquire the Budget vehicle rentals business which now operates out of the Blenheim airport.

In 2002 Sturrock and Jo Saunders purchased Mayfield Motors Limited. They represent the third generation Marlburians in the motor industry in Marlborough. Sturrock says “its terrific when you deal with customers who remember their parents buying vehicles off your father, and your grandfather, and you are sitting around a table to assist in providing advice to ensure they purchase the right vehicle”.
